Our Core Principle

Worcester Youth Flag Football is a kids' activity designed for children to have fun. Every decision, interaction, and moment should prioritize the joy, safety, and positive development of our young athletes.

For Players

Respect & Sportsmanship

  • • Respect teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials
  • • Use positive language and encouragement
  • • Accept wins and losses gracefully
  • • Follow the rules and play fair

Safety & Participation

  • • Listen to coaches and follow instructions
  • • Wear proper equipment and follow safety rules
  • • Try your best and support your teammates
  • • Ask questions when you don't understand
For Parents & Spectators

Positive Support

  • • Cheer positively for all players, not just your child
  • • Focus on effort and improvement, not just outcomes
  • • Respect the officials' decisions without argument
  • • Model good sportsmanship for the children

Boundaries & Respect

  • • Let coaches coach and players play
  • • Address concerns privately with coaches or commissioners
  • • Respect other parents and families
  • • Remember this is about the kids having fun

Remember: Your child is watching how you behave. Your positive attitude and sportsmanship will help create a better experience for everyone.

For Coaches & Volunteers

Player Development

  • • Ensure equal playing time for all players
  • • Focus on skill development and fun
  • • Use positive coaching techniques
  • • Be patient and encouraging with all skill levels

Leadership & Safety

  • • Model good sportsmanship at all times
  • • Prioritize player safety in all decisions
  • • Communicate respectfully with players, parents, and officials
  • • Handle conflicts calmly and appropriately
Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors will not be tolerated and may result in removal from games or the league:

  • • Verbal abuse, profanity, or inappropriate language
  • • Physical confrontations or aggressive behavior
  • • Harassment of players, coaches, officials, or parents
  • • Arguing with or disrespecting officials
  • • Coaching from the sidelines by non-coaches
  • • Unsportsmanlike conduct or poor sportsmanship
  • • Any behavior that detracts from the kids' experience
  • • Violation of safety rules or guidelines
Consequences

Violations of this code of conduct may result in:

First Offense

Verbal warning and discussion with league commissioner

Repeated Offenses

Suspension from games or removal from the league

Note: Severe violations may result in immediate removal from games or the league, regardless of prior warnings.
